Portland got really puppet-y last weekend. Toby Froud’s film premiered at the Hollywood Theatre and Melvin the Birder had the honor of screening in the previews. We even got a shout in Portland Monthly Magazine! Go Puppet Power!

The featured artist for THE PUPPET SLAM THIS WEEKEND is Liz Hara. Liz is a NY-based puppet builder, wrangler, and performer. She currently works for Sesame Street, and has also worked on the Broadway productions of The Lion King, Avenue Q, Shrek, and Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.
An alumni of the O’Neill Puppetry Conference, she has performed her own work at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the New Orleans Fringe, and the Puppeteers of America National Festival. She loves dirty jokes and dancing, and her most important achievement to date is having eaten all 100 of Buzzfeed’s “100 Candies to Try Before You Die.”
